To My Fest Family,
It is officially Tuesday and for most of us that means our own kind of crazy theatre camp is over. This year in Provincetown felt so special to me. It's strange to think that a group of people who might have been strangers less two weeks ago are now closer to you than many friends from home that you see daily. We have found people who are just as crazy as each one of us, people who don't judge and just accept each other for our quirks. I can honestly say I left feeling like we were a family unit.
Family, is small word that has so much meaning. You turn to your family for everything. They help you when you need it and care for you. They are your shoulder to cry on, constant support and always push you to challenge yourself. Life is definitely not always easy and there always seems to be curve balls coming from every direction. I think there are always times when we doubt ourselves or when make mistakes that caused us to second guess ourselves. Your family is there to help you to learn and grow from mistakes that are made everyday. Without family, life's meaning significantly decreases. As you grow older, you begin to realize that being a family member doesn't always mean a blood-related person. Someone not even related to you has become your sister or brother. Your friends have become apart of your family. The Beatles say it best, "I get by with a little help from my friends". This festival was so wonderful, and I truly think we have proved that we can succeed together. All of our strengths are different, it inspires is us to be better, provides us with motivation to achieve our goals, and cheer on our successes as a family.
Thank you all for being a part of my life, even if it is for a brief time once a year!
