For My Best Friend/Sister on Her Birthday

Happy Birthday to my gorgeous sister and very best friend. I hope your 25th birthday and next year of life is full of adventure and happiness. Let me take this birthday wish for you to also get a little bit mushy. 

I simply wouldn’t be me without you! We have done a lot of growing up together - making many ordinary moments, EXTRAordinary. Thank you for always giving me the extra push I need...and knowing when I need it. You believe that I deserve the best, and I believe that you deserve the best. We recognize each other’s hard work, and know that we are worthy of what we want, be it careers, relationships, etc. 

I know it is hard right now because we aren’t in the same place. Just remember - best friends don’t grow apart, even when they are apart. I could never imagine being without you. We always stick together at each others worst times and moments where no one else really gets it, even when they say they do. We just have this understanding and do not sugar coat things in an effort to try feel better (because we both know that with depression sometimes, there is no feeling better). Also crying isn’t usually our forte.

We can hang out for days on end and never get sick of each other. Usually our sleepovers turn into a few nights. We make everything fun, even just going to the grocery store. Getting in your car I know you will always introduce me to a fun new song or blare something loud that is our favorite and I will get to be the texter for us when we are running late to whatever it is we are going to. Getting in my car you know you can always laugh at my old lady driving skills. We both have a mad love for our dogs and leopard print. While we are the same in so many ways that would take way too long to list, we accept what makes each other different and take the time to understand it.   

Sure there are lots of people we can call our best friends, but we are different, we are sisters and no amount of time or space will ever change that.
